Description
Arctic Explorer lets you dive into the world of polar wildlife, glaciers, and climate history from your phone or tablet. Browse a catalog of 12 Arctic animals including polar bears, narwhals, beluga whales, arctic foxes, walruses, and more. Each species comes with a detailed profile covering habitat, diet, conservation status, fun facts, migration data, and the sounds they make. Open the 3D viewer on any animal to examine it up close — rotate, zoom, and explore from every angle. Head to the Ice Core Lab to scroll through 10 layers of ice spanning 800,000 years. Each layer shows the era, temperature, CO2 levels, depth, and the types of particles trapped inside. Learn how ancient atmosphere was preserved in ice and what it tells us about Earth's past. In the Aurora Lab, mix green, blue, purple, and pink light to build your own northern lights display. Adjust speed, altitude, and wave frequency to see how different conditions shape the aurora. Choose from five presets based on real aurora types or create something entirely your own. Track animal migrations on a polar map. Select a month and watch how species move between their summer and winter ranges. See migration distances, peak travel months, and seasonal range coordinates for each tracked animal. The Glacier Explorer includes a real-time simulator where you control temperature, snowfall, solar radiation, and CO2 levels, then watch how a glacier grows or melts over thousands of simulated years. A database of six real Arctic glaciers provides context with thickness, age, and melt rate data. Test what you have learned in the Wildlife Quiz. Twenty questions across five categories — Wildlife, Climate, Geography, Survival, and Culture — with three difficulty levels. Each answer includes an explanation so you walk away knowing more than when you started. Frozen Soundscape offers eight ambient Arctic environments. Listen to blizzard winds, glacier calving, underwater beluga songs, or a quiet aurora night. Toggle individual sound layers on and off and adjust the mix to your liking. The Climate Timeline walks you through eight major eras from the Last Glacial Maximum to the present day. Each era includes temperature anomaly, CO2 levels, sea level change, ice extent, and key historical events. In Photo Studio, pick a background — aurora sky, frozen tundra, arctic ocean, glacier ice, and more — then place any Arctic animal on the canvas. Drag, pinch, and rotate to compose your shot, then capture it and save the result to your photo library. Personalize your profile with a photo taken straight from your camera or picked from your photo library. Your progress is tracked throughout the app. Earn points by discovering animals, completing quizzes, exploring ice layers, creating aurora configurations, capturing photos, and more. Unlock 10 achievements and level up from Novice Explorer to Master Polar Scientist.
