Description
You got a letter from the government. You want to paste it into ChatGPT to understand what it says. But your name, address, and SIN are right there on the page. Or you're a nurse writing up a case for a colleague. The patient's name is in your notes. Or you're a developer about to paste a log file. Your API key is on line 40. You pause. You start deleting things by hand. You miss one. I built I'm John Doe so you don't have to do that anymore. Paste your text on the left. The app finds private info and shows a clean copy on the right, with fake words in place of the real ones. Copy that. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or anywhere you want. Your real info never leaves your Mac. It also removes invisible characters that sometimes hide in pasted text. You can't see them, but they can carry hidden data or be used for lookalike-letter tricks. If they were in what you copied, they don't come out of this app. What it finds: - Names, addresses, phone numbers, emails - Dates of birth, ages, national IDs (SSN, SIN, and others) - Credit card numbers, bank accounts, IBANs - Passport and driver's license numbers - Medical ID numbers and patient IDs - For developers: IP addresses, MAC addresses, file paths, URLs, and secrets like API keys and tokens You stay in control: - Turn off any category you don't need - Add your own words to always hide (a project name, a nickname, a code word) - Add words to never hide (your company name, a common word the app got wrong) - Undo any change How the privacy part works: - Everything runs on your Mac. The app can't reach the internet. - No sign-up. No account. No tracking. - Your text is never sent to a server, because there is no server. Who it's for: - People using AI to read or translate official mail, forms, or letters with their personal info on them - Office workers pasting client emails, contracts, or reports into AI tools - Developers pasting logs, stack traces, or config files - Writers, students, lawyers, doctors, and anyone else who types real names into chat boxes I'm one person. I made this because I was tired of typing "John Doe" over my own name before every AI prompt. If something doesn't work, write to me. I read every email. No AI. No cloud. No exposure.
