Do you have hard disks or network shares with hundreds of photos in them and you're not sure which of these you've imported into your Mac and which ones you haven't? Mijo’s Photo Import Helper helps you safely review photos in folders and subfolders before importing them into Apple Photos. It scans a selected folder, compares the images with your Photos library, and shows only the photos that need review so you can choose exactly what to import. It will show photos that may be a potential match, but ones it's not completely sure about. You can hide those ones. It will list the ones in the folders that it thinks aren't already in your Photos library as it finds them, but you can ask it to group similar looking ones together in case you have copies of the same photos in other folders. Once you've picked the ones you want to import, import them and you're done! It's as simple as that! It's not perfect, ie: there's a chance it might accidentally give you some duplicates, but it's a lot quicker and easier than trying to go through all the folders on your hard disk and it usually gets things right. Important to note that nothing ever leaves your Mac, or is deleted, so it's very safe and private.
