Description
You want a smart home. You have a list of devices, a rough idea of where things go, and a budget that keeps changing. Smart Layers is where you figure it all out before you spend a cent. Draw your floor plan. Drop in the devices. See where the WiFi actually reaches. Point the cameras somewhere useful. Check if everything works together. Count up the cost. It starts simple — draw a room, give it real dimensions, pick a shape. Then you start filling it in. A router here, a thermostat there, some lights along the ceiling, a camera watching the front door. Everything sits on the floor plan exactly where you'd put it in real life. Devices are grouped into seven layers — power, lighting, climate, security, network, automation, AV. Turn layers on and off to focus on one thing at a time. The wiring guy doesn't need to see your camera angles. The electrician doesn't need to see the smart bulbs. The WiFi coverage shows you where the signal goes and where it hits a wall. Camera FOV shows you exactly what each camera sees depending on where it's pointed and how wide the lens is. Move a device, the coverage moves with it. Budget runs in the background the whole time. Every device has an estimated price. You can change it, mark things as purchased, and watch the numbers update. By the end you know what you've bought, what's left, and what the whole thing costs broken down by room and category. There's a compatibility check that catches things you might miss — Zigbee devices with no Zigbee hub, cameras with no way to record, access points on the wrong protocol. It suggests what's missing and lets you add it in one tap. When you're done, export the plan as a PDF to hand off to a contractor, a PNG to stick in a group chat, or a JSON backup to save for later.
