Visuals: Isaiah’s Way is a parent-led visual support app created to help families support understanding, communication, and participation in daily life through clear picture-based prompts. It can be especially helpful for families supporting individuals who benefit from visual examples, visual routines, and picture-based communication support, including those with autism, speech delays, or communication differences. Some people struggle to understand spoken directions alone. A parent or caregiver may say “put on your shoes,” “eat your food,” or “wash your hands,” but the message may be easier to understand when paired with a visual. Visuals can make the direction clearer by showing what the action looks like. Visuals can also help with willingness and participation. Some people are more likely to try a new food, activity, or routine when they see a visual example of someone doing it. For example, seeing a person eat a food may encourage participation with that food too. With Visuals: Isaiah’s Way, parents and caregivers can show simple visual cards for daily routines, eating, feelings, calming strategies, appointments, learning, play, safe choices, and transitions. Visuals can also be used as choices to support communication of wants and needs. The app includes tools like First–Then, My Story, and custom visual cards so families can create supports that match real-life moments.
